Membership 101
Throughout the year we offer an "introduction to Capitol City Christian Church" class. This class
takes place at the church on Sunday morning and includes a brunch for those that attend. Participants receive a workbook
that follows the class discussion. Topics covered include baptism, church membership, communion (the Lord's Supper),
what Capitol City Christian Church believes and teaches and what it means to become a Christian. It doesn't matter if
you have been attending Capitol City for a short time, a long time or are not even sure if you want to attend, everyone who
is wondering "what's it all about" will find their answers in Membership 101.
Discipleship 201
This class is the next step for those who have just begun to follow Christ or want to grow in their understanding
of what it means to be a disciple of Christ. The class explains four spiritual habits we emphasize are pulled directly
from scripture and will identify God's plan for spiritual discipline in your life. Time reading and studying God's Word,
Prayer, Stewardship, and Fellowship are the four habits we focus on in Discipleship 201. The purpose of the class is
stated this way "... that you may become mature Christians and may fulfill God's will for you." Colossians 4:12
Ministry 301
Spiritual Gifts and You Series
Every Christian has a spiritual gift and should want to serve in a meaningful way. The purpose of
this class is to help each student identify their spiritual gifts and how they can serve in the most effective way.
The class is summed in this acrostic as it describes our SHAPE in Christ.
S - Our Spiritual Gifts
H - Our Heart for Ministry
A - Our Abilities that God has given
P - Our Personality and how that fits into God's plan
E - Our Experiences and how God uses them to open doors for ministry
Our Ministry 301 class meets for four sessions.
Mission 401
Mission and Ministry Series
God has a job for each of us to do and the Bible helps us understand what that job is. Ministry is
what you do every day of your life, not just what you do at church. Every Christian has the responsibility to represent
Christ wherever they go and in whatever they do. This class points out the need for evangelism in every walk of life
and helps prepare you to do your part. It also exposes us to the needs of the world and how badly the world needs Jesus.
We can all participate in what God is doing worldwide through involvement of time, talent, and treasure. Together we
can make a difference in our world.
